Revealing Us

Revealing Us - Lisa Renee Jones

Lisa Renee Jones has become the new Master of romantic suspense!

I finished book two in the Inside Out Series, BEING ME, with a big sigh - there was just so much tension - so much that happened so quickly in that book and it's predecessor IF I WERE YOU -- I felt like I was on a roller-coaster trapped inside a twister (in a good way!). I have to admit, I was wondering where Ms. Jones could possibly take us next. And while there is a completely different feel to REVEALING US from the previous two books, it is still oh-so-good in its own right. Lisa Renee Jones has done what few authors can accomplish -- write three unique books that form a cohesive trilogy while still amazingly great books alone as individuals.

Once again, this book picks up right where the previous one left off. Where the other books featured lots of hot sex with a bit of romance, this one pulls out all the stops in the romance department. Or I should say Romance, with a capital "R"! Don't get me wrong, there is still more than enough scorchingly-hot sex to make you squirm in your seat, but the dynamic of Sara's life has definitely shifted. We get to see some old favorites and a few new characters are introduced (both likable and not-so-likable ones) - and some mysteries we thought were closed might not as resolved as they appeared. It's hard to write more without giving away any spoilers, but trust me, you are not going to want to put this one down either! And as I was nearing the end, feeling that familiar sadness any book-lover knows too well as they are about to say goodbye to their fictional friends...I realized this couldn't be the end. I wanted more, and I was still hopeful this isn't the last we'll see of these characters. And now that I've found out this isn't the end of this series (YAY!), I cannot wait to see what Ms. Jones has up her sleeve next!

Being Me Review

Being Me (Inside Out Trilogy, #2) - Lisa Renee Jones

Words cannot express how much I loved this book, but I'm going to try anyway.
I loved book one in the INSIDE OUT TRILOGY -- IF I WERE YOU - it was one of my favorite books of 2012. Needless to say, I had super high expectations for this one. Well, Ms. Jones not only rose to the challenge, she blew those expectations away! If possible it has even more suspense, angst, super-hot sex, as well as really touching love scenes too.

BEING ME picks up at that oh-so-frustrating cliffhanger from book one. And the action just doesn't stop. From that point on I was hooked and literally read all 300+ pages in the next 24 hours.

For those of you who hate series because of all the unanswered questions, you will not feel that way reading this one. So many mysteries get resolved, it was so worth the wait - and no cliffhanger! (ok, maybe just a small one - but it is teeny-tiny, I swear!)

BEING ME was so good, no one (including me) will want to wait for REVEALING US, but luckily, the wait is not nearly as long for that!

If I Were You Review

If I Were You (Inside Out Trilogy, #1) - Lisa Renee Jones

After being teased by the first chapter a month or two ago, I was extremely excited and anxious to finally be able to read this book. I was not disappointed at all! Author Lisa Renee Jones has managed to create a book that is not only a well written and engaging story, but does double duty as a super-hot and sexy romance novel as well. A great feat indeed! It's no secret that I'm a huge fan of her previous work, but If I Were You is, by far, my favorite of hers to date. I just loved it! From page one, it grabs your attention with an interesting and suspenseful storyline and in-your-face sexuality. I could not put it down! I was vacationing in Ireland when I read it, and I found myself wanting to stay in bed and read instead of going out to sight see! It's been compared to Fifty Shades of Grey with good reason - damaged and super-possessive male introduces (somewhat) innocent female into a whole new world beyond her imagination. He's super possessive and super protective (swoon!) and the sex is oh-so-very hot, and I have the feeling it's just going to get hotter in the upcoming books. For those tentative readers who are shying away from the BDSM books, this one would be a good one to start with because it's introduced and discussed without being overly graphic (yet?). I loved the mystery aspect and storage wars theme, and I learned a little about both art and wine while reading it - what more could you ask for in a book?! After having only read book one of a planned trilogy, I already can tell I'm going to like this series even more than the Fifty Shades one.

Review Escaping Reality

Escaping Reality - Lisa Renee Jones

The first book in a planned two book series, Escaping Reality is also Ms. Jones' debut in the trendy New Adult genre. And when she does something, she goes all in - as is clearly the case with this book. I devoured it from start to finish. It hooked me with the mysterious premise, and kept me reading with the tumultuous relationship between Amy and Liam. Liam, who fits right into the reclusive-billionaire-alpha-hotter-than-anyone-has-a-right-to-be role that seems to be a prerequisite if you're the lead in a New Adult Romance, is absolutely swoon-worthy, but unlike the often doormat-ish females of the genre, Amy stands her ground and goes toe-to-toe with Liam well. I am a sucker for romantic angst, and Escaping Reality has it in spades. And if the ending is any indication, book two (which thankfully we only have to wait a couple months for) is going to start with even more of it. Escaping Reality definitely raises more questions than it answers, which is a bit on the frustrating side, but the short wait between books, and the rumored possibility of a prequel novella is promising and quells more than a little of that frustration. I certainly will be first in line waiting for book two to see how this all ends. A wonderful New Adult debut that fans of the genre (or any romance for that matter) will adore. 4.5/5 stars.
